JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A 29-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found shot to death in the roadway of a Jackson Township apartment complex Saturday morning, prosecutors said.

Police responded around 11 a.m. to a 911 call reporting gunfire and an unresponsive woman at the Paragon Apartment Complex on Larsen Road, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. Officers found 28-year-old Toraya Reid lying near the exit of the complex with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Naz Reid, is a professional basketball player from Asbury Park, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Toraya was his sister. He was the 2024 NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
