HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a man was shot by a Harris County deputy Saturday night outside a retail store in northwest Harris County.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy responded around 8:44 p.m. to a call about a suspicious person near a Walgreens at 12097 Veterans Memorial Drive.
When the deputy arrived, the man reportedly began fighting with him. The deputy then fired his weapon, striking the man, according to officials.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. The deputy was not injured.
It is unclear if the man was armed.
