GRAND FORKS — All week, UND head coach Eric Schmidt implored his team to attack every moment as though it was the 'last two minutes in Manhattan.'

On Saturday, poor Portland State received the brunt of the Fighting Hawks' late-game disappointment at Kansas State in Week 1.

UND led 15-0 before Portland State took an offensive snap. The Hawks led 22-0 before the Vikings picked up a first down.

No. 20 rode that fast start to a comfortable 50-20 win over Portland State in Schmidt's home debut as head coach in the Potato Bowl in front of 11,469 fans.
