A careless driver who injured four people in a crash has been banned from the roads. Callum Sweeney previously pleaded guilty to causing serious injury to four people by 'careless or inconsiderate' driving in Billingham .

Teesside Magistrates' Court heard that the 34-year-old was driving a black Kia Sportage "without due care and attention” at the corner of Marsh House Avenue and the A1185 in Billingham when the two-vehicle crash occurred. The collision saw two patients taken to the James Cook University Hospital after firefighters cut a person from a vehicle.

Cleveland Police later confirmed that a woman suffered 'multiple fractures' following the crash on January 4. Nick Ayres, defending, added that the “main victim” is the defendant’s partner.
