SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) -- A ribbon-cutting for the new Isaiah 117 house was held on Saturday. The project started back in 2021 and broke ground in 2022.
The non-profit organization steps in when a child is removed from their home. Instead of the child going to the Department of Child Services, children will be able to come to Isaiah 117 home.
Since 2021, location leader Hannah Bettag says that the community has been donating supplies for the house. One Shoe Carnival employee used their discounts and donated boxes of shoes for the children. Bettag says that the home's goal is to give children hope as they pass through.
