LOS ANGELES – A person was wounded Saturday in a shooting in the Westlake District of Los Angeles.

The shooting occurred at 4:12 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of S. Westlake Ave., according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The victim was taken to a hospital by ambulance, she said. Unconfirmed reports on social media indicate the victim was shot multiple times in an alley between an apartment building and a Holiday Inn Express.

The victim’s name, gender, age and condition were not available.

An investigation was underway at the scene, including a search for suspects, the officer said.
