ORONO, Maine (WABI) - The city of Orono paid homage to a prominent community member on Saturday.

Bruce Farnsworth was the owner of Pat’s Pizza, an iconic spot for university students and the city of Orono as a whole.

He had become an integral part of the Orono community before his passing in 2023.

In the time since, his family wanted to find a way to honor all he’d done for the city.

So, as a part of the Orono Festival’s Black Bear Bonanza, the road between Mill Street and the Pine Street lot was officially dedicated as Bruce Farnsworth Way - a testament to the impact Farnsworth had on the Orono community.
