With Auburn football holding a commanding lead over Ball State in the fourth quarter, Tiger fans got a glimpse of the potential future.

Former five-star recruit Deuce Knight made his college debut on Saturday, replacing Jackson Arnold late in Auburn’s 42-3 win over Ball State . Knight finished with 20 yards on 2-for-5 passing and added another 16 yards on the ground.

"I was kind of shocked he didn’t complete more balls," head coach Hugh Freeze said after the game. “Every time you’ve thrown him in a scrimmage, he’s lit it up.”

Knight’s first pass attempt was a drop by Bryce Cain, and he never got much of a rhythm going in the passing game. His longest completion was a 14-yard pass over the middle to Camden Etheredge.
