SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Children with Down syndrome from the Ozarks and their families gathered in New York City on September 6 as part of the annual National Down Syndrome Society Times Square Video Presentation.

Several children from the Ozarks were featured in the slideshow, and some families were able to make the trip to “The Big Apple”.

The Fugitt family from Hartville, Mo., was able to attend with their son Felix. They said the best part of the day is seeing the community they have across the country.

“It was really neat to see all of the other parents of kids with Down syndrome of all different ages and to connect with them. It’s just like a big family, like we get together and see each other on the street, and it’s just been really neat to see the larger community come toge
