DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - LULAC hosted its 64th Annual Fiesta Night on Saturday at the Putnam Museum.
The event celebrated the approach of Hispanic Heritage Month that begins on Sept. 15.
“It’s just a great way to bond together and display once again our Hispanic culture that doesn’t always, you know, find its way to the light of day,” said Tim Garcia, President of LULAC Council 10 Davenport.
Attendees had the chance to enjoy some Mexican food catered by Restaurante El Mariachi, traditional dance performances by Quad City Ballet Folklorico and Danza Asuncion, and also live music from the Crooked Cactus Band.
Guests were also encouraged to tour the Hispanic heritage exhibit called “Indigenous Roots of Mexican Americans”, which showcases artifacts from indigenous and pre-Hispanic communit
