Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin cruised to a third term last week, securing nearly 75% of votes. He won everywhere, earning a majority in every precinct.
He won by wider margins in some of Birmingham’s few predominantly white areas, including a strong core of support in the south-central part of the city — some of the same areas that helped buoy Woodfin’s dominant war chest.
And all this in a race that saw a lowly turnout of just 22%.
Where did Woodfin win biggest?
In terms of total votes, Woodfin saw broad support all across Birmingham, including in the northeast and south-central parts of the city.

In a race with eight other candidates, Woodfin won at least 62% of the vote in all 64 precincts reported by the City Clerk’s Office. Voters at Cre
