It’s that time of year again. Around 60,000 runners are expected to turn out for Sunday’s Great North Run.

Spectators will also line the 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields to cheer the participants on. A number of Teessiders are taking on the 44th world-famous half-marathon including Middlesbrough mum Suzanne Webb to raise money for the hospital where her daughter receives treatment for arthritis and actor Neil Grainger for Zoe’s Place baby hospice where he has just become a patron.
