A death investigation is underway after two people were found dead in Castle Hayne.

At 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, deputies from the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office responded to a suspicious person on Davis Lane, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office.

Upon arrival deputies located two people deceased. Deputies encountered a third person who is now detained. Detectives have begun their investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
