A new café has opened in memory of a famous Cambridge -born rock star. The Artyst has opened its doors on Chesterton Road with a range of photographs and memorabilia dedicated to the co-founder of Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett.

Matthew Taylor, the owner of the Artyst, described it as a , a café, bar, and arts venue. He said the ground floor of the café will also be an exhibition space.

He said: "It's an events space primarily with a café and a bar attached. It's across two floors with the café and bar on the ground floor. It will be available for private parties. It's also an exhibition space.

"Upstairs is a permanent exhibition on the photographs of Syd Barrett by Mick Rock, who's a famous photographer. He shot people like Syd, David Bowie, and lots of other people through the 60s and 70
