New Leicester City signing Francisco Vieites is relishing the opportunity to play under compatriot Martí Cifuentes .
The goalkeeper joined the Foxes on a free transfer after being released by Real Betis in August.
He has signed a two-year deal with Leicester after making 20 appearances for Betis over three years, having joined from CD Lugo in 2022.
Eight of those appearances came in the Europa Conference League last season, during which he helped the club reach the final against Chelsea. He was, however, an unused substitute in the 4-1 defeat in Wroclaw, Poland.
“I talked to [Cifuentes] on the phone,” he explained about his move. “I like the way he plays football. I like the way he expresses himself and I think we’ll do a great job.
