Springfield, Mass. – Jim Boeheim was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame for a second time on Saturday.
Boeheim received his first orange jacket back in 2005, going into the Hall of Fame on the strength of his coaching accomplishments even though he still had 18 more seasons ahead of him.
On Saturday, Boeheim went into the Hall as part of the 2008 USA Olympic Team; aka the Redeem Team. Boeheim, an assistant on the ’08 team, joined the players and coaches from that team on the stage here at Springfield’s Symphony Hall.
He stood alongside Mike Krzyzewski, the former Duke coach and head coach of the USA team; and players including Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Jason Kidd and Carmelo Anthony.
But Boeheim hardly considered Saturday as a special night for himself.
