EAST LANSING — Before Omari Kelly wanted to say a word about scoring a game-winning two-point conversion for Michigan State Saturday night , he had to pay tribute to his teammates.
The veteran wide receiver transfer suited up for just the second time as a Spartan and the first quarter against Boston College couldn’t have gone much worse as he fumbled the ball twice, including on a punt return that handed the ball right back to the Eagles for ideal field positioning.
He didn’t have any catches in the first half and his team went into the locker room trailing Boston College.
But confidence in Kelly never wavered and he was the one to win a thrilling double overtime game against Boston College, bringing in a pass from quarterback Aidan Chiles to set off a raucous celebration.
“Before we
