After the sweltering summer heat we’ve had over the last few days, we are finally seeing our cool-down approach ENC today. Clouds will fade away to afternoon showers and storms, associated with a cold front moving in. Some of the rain could fall heavily, creating a possible flash flood concern. Rain will be under 1-2″ for the coast, as the inalnd areas could see less than 0.50″ or so. Highs will be in the upper 70s, and lows will be near 60°F.

Showers along the coast will continue this week, with a few inland passing showers, but not expected to be a washout. Each day carries a 30%-40% chance of rain. Highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s, with lower humidity. Not only will we see showers, but northeast winds will develop across the area. We could see 10-20 mph, with higher wind spe
