Ethan Dolby missed the playoffs last year after breaking his ankle in the regular-season finale against Windsor.

The road back to health was long, but it is proving fruitful. The Western running back racked up 182 yards – his third straight 100-yard game – and scored three touchdowns in the Mustangs’ 55-29 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees Saturday evening at Western Alumni Stadium.

“It’s a testament to the guys around me and the trainers keeping me pushing forward,” the St. Thomas Parkside grad said. “It was a struggle. I can’t lie. That was my first serious injury and there were ups and downs along the way.”

A hard training camp helped. So, too, did his heavy workload in the four-overtime season opener against Queen’s.
