September means many of us are back to school and activities, and for most parents, that also means we’re back to packing or advising our young people about healthy snacks.
My ongoing project of making and learning about recipes from “The Joy of Sharing,” the 1985 church cookbook published by the Oak Valley American Lutheran Women of Velva, North Dakota, offered an opportunity to discover what parents might have reached for to tuck into their children’s backpacks.
