LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - A front settling into the area will bring drier air through the day. Temperatures will still get hot in the afternoon, near 90 in many spots, but a nice northerly breeze will usher in lower humidity. This will lead to better feeling conditions especially in the nighttime hours. Low temperatures will drop into the mid and upper 60s across the area under clear skies.

The tropics are quiet and look to remain that way through the next week as dry air and wind shear prevent any formation.

Locally, we will see a nice period of pleasant mornings and hot afternoons. Temperatures gradually increase towards the end of the week. A weak area of low pressure will surge moisture back across the area leading to high humidity and an isolated rain chance Thursday and Friday. Summe
