LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A woman was arrested after a fatal accident and suspected impairment resulted in the death of a 19-year-old.

Shelby T. Wood, 24, was arrested for first offense DWI, vehicular homicide, careless operation and expired registration.

According to authorities, last night at 9 p.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Perkins Ferry Road and Poeyfarre Drive in Moss Bluff. The initial crash involved three vehicles: a Chevy pickup, a Toyota SUV, and a Ford pickup.

Officials learned the Chevy was stopped northbound on North Perkins Ferry Road, waiting to turn left onto Poeyfarre Drive. The Toyota attempted to pass the Chevy in a no-passing zone and struck the Ford head-on as it was traveling southbound o
