Rain showers were expected to continue Sunday as a cold front stalled over the Gulf of Maine, according to the National Weather Service in Caribou.
In northern and central regions, between one-half and three-quarters of an inch of rain may fall, with higher totals around Bangor and Down East.
The rain was expected to taper off by noon in southern Maine, which was expected to receive up to one-half inch.
Temperatures were forecast to remain in the 60s across central and northern Maine, with showers tapering off later in the day. Cloudy skies and cooler temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s are expected Sunday night.
