SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Theresa Shank Grentz, a celebrated figure in women's basketball coaching, was honored with a bench unveiling at the Naismith Coaches Circle outside the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Grentz, who is part of the Hall of Fame Class of 2022, has a distinguished college coaching career with over 680 wins and was instrumental in leading Immaculata College to three consecutive championships in the early 1970s.

"Be a critical thinker, think for yourself, be able to figure things out," Grentz emphasized during the ceremony, sharing the lessons she imparted to her players. "The second one is to be able to solve problems. Don't have other people solve your problems; you solve it, you figure it out. And the third is be able to express yourself, verbally and written."
