NORFOLK (WAVY) - Down 23-10 with 3:27 to go in the third quarter, the stands started to empty at Dick Price Stadium. It looked like Michael Vick and his Norfolk State Spartans were set to fall to 0-2 to start the season.
Insert Otto Kuhns. For the second week in a row, the senior quarterback was placed into the game. Kuhns sparked the offense immediately, leading a nine-play, 70 yard touchdown drive to cut the deficit six with 14:57 to play in the fourth quarter.
Not too long after, Kuhns lead the go-ahead six-play 78 yard drive that gave the Spartans a 24-23 lead.
The game would eventually go into overtime tied at 31.
