MARTA will close Garnett Station beginning Saturday, Sept. 13, while construction crews replace the 44-year-old platform pavers. Trains will not stop at Garnett through Sunday, Oct. 26, so a shuttle bus service will ferry passengers between Garnett and Five Points Station. MARTA is urging riders to allow up to 15 extra minutes for travel time or access trains directly at Five Points.

Buses that arrive and depart from Garnett Station will not be affected by the closure of the platform.

The six-week skip stop will save about 14 months of construction time and $5 million in costs, according to a statement from MARTA.
