LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- While art programs are being cut at schools across the country — due to budget cuts and other economic issues — a Lancaster County non-profit is working to keep music in classrooms.

“It’s day two of the Pequea Creek Races,” said Mark Marafioti, director of operations for Music for Everyone. “We had eight teams here on Friday. All teams get the same supplies. On Saturday we spend the whole day building boats and then on Sunday, we're going to race them down this creek here starting at noon.”

It’s the fifth annual year of the competition.

“It's really, it's a great opportunity for everybody to come and do something fun, but also to raise money for a good cause,” Marafioti added.
