MINNEAPOLIS — A massive fire tore through at least three commercial buildings in Northeast Minneapolis early Sunday morning.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department , firefighters were called to the 1500 block of Central Avenue Northeast at approximately 4 a.m. and found a three-story commercial building on fire.

Minneapolis Assistant Fire Chief Melanie Rucker said obstructions and low water pressure impacted firefighters' ability to respond, and crews faced obstacles reaching the flames.

"Fire crews had difficulty even getting close to the building. There are several tires discarded in this alleyway here, and then you have surrounding railroads and other buildings that they had to get through to lay lines," Rucker explained. "Some of the hydrants were dead ... not giving us enoug
