Sunday morning traffic came to a standstill after authorities shut down both directions of Interstate 30 in Rockwall between Dalrock Road and Horizon Road.

A TxDOT camera showed investigators on the scene at the bridge that crosses over Lake Ray Hubbard. Officers are working to clear the scene of an accident, according to Rowlett Police.

Details of the accident have not been released, but drivers are urged to seek an alternate route, like Hwy 66, to avoid the backup.

At about 8:30 a.m. Rockwall police posted on social media that the road is expected to be closed for approximately 90 minutes.
