Frisco Memorial High School hosted its first home game since the stabbing death of one its standout players. Rising senior Austin Metcalf died in April after being stabbed by another student during a school track meet.
On Friday evening, Metcalf’s family told NBC 5 they attended the game to remember who he was as a student and athlete, while cheering on his twin brother, Hunter Metcalf.

Jeff Metcalf made sure to arrive early at the Ford Center in Frisco to support his son on the field and honor the son no longer with him. He stopped briefly to address reporters outside the stadium.
“Metcalf Austin, you got it tonight, brother. He’s with us. Twelfth man,” said Jeff Metcalf.
