SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Students at the University of South Florida took part in an annual tradition this week--the laying of thousands of miniature flags.
The commemoration is all to honor the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks. Now, 24 years later, USF students lay one flag for every victim, a tribute meant to make sure that they and all their fellow Americans never forget the tragedy.
Officials say that this year, the school saw its largest-ever group of participants.
