The Northern Arizona football team averted a late-game disaster in its home opener against Utah Tech on Saturday. A 31-point first half for the Lumberjacks was nearly not enough, but NAU weathered the storm and held on to win, 38-31.
Utah Tech found itself with the ball in a one-possession game with less than two minutes to go, outscoring NAU 21-7 after halftime. But senior safety Jaylan Wesley hauled in the game-winning interception, one of two picks he had in the game and three the Lumberjacks had throughout the matchup. Copy article link
