Authorities were on the lookout Sunday for the person who fatally shot a 35-year-old man in the Westlake District of Los Angeles before fleeing on a scooter.

The shooting occurred at 4:12 p.m. Saturday at 619 S. Westlake Ave., near MacArthur Park, a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center told City News Service.

The victim had been in a dispute with a suspect, which escalated into a shooting. The suspect fled the scene on a scooter, according to the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.

The victim was ambulanced to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
