A man who didn't want to pull over when he saw a state trooper behind him sparked a 3-vehicle crash in Blades that cost the man his life over the weekend.

The trooper was behind a pickup truck on Seaford Road around 11 p.m. Saturday when he noticed the truck was displaying a temp tag that expired in February, Delaware State Police said.

The pickup truck driver, a 58-year-old Seaford man, sped away when the trooper turned his roof lights on, and shortly thereafter, the pickup crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a second pickup, pushing it backward into the front of a car.

The Seaford man, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, and police are withholding is name until his family can be notified.
