Boil water order issued for customers in Du Quoin

DU QUOIN, Ill. (WSIL) -- A boil water order has been issued for certain customers in Du Quoin on Sunday.

The city stated on Sunday, just before noon, the order is for customers in the 300-block of East Franklin Street.

The order is in effect until further notice.

The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.

When washing hands with tap water during a boil water order, it's recommended to use soap and water, then using alcohol-based hand sanitizer and let them air dry.
