BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office has announced the passing of retired K-9 Bowe on Sunday. He was 9 years old.

K-9 Bowe began serving Saratoga County with his handler, Sergeant Kevin Lancto, in 2016. Throughout his career, he responded to several incidents involving suspicious devices and bomb threats; conducted protective sweeps for mass-gathering events; recovered numerous firearms and assisted in multiple criminal investigations.
