NORMAN — Brent Venables sheepishly begged to be let down as soon as a few of his players hoisted the coach atop their shoulders.

Venables wanted to revel in OU’s 24-13 win against Michigan , but not like that. Not in Week 2. Not to the point where he was being elevated (literally) above the team.
