Police made six arrests as protestors demonstrated outside a hotel in south Manchester.

The demonstration took place this afternoon at the Best Western Hotel on Wilmslow Road in Fallowfield , which is understood to be accommodating asylum seekers.

It is the latest in a series of protests outside hotels housing asylum seekers across the country. Demonstrations have taken place earlier this week at the same hotel as well at other premises including Cresta Court in Altrincham and the Victoria Hotel in Chadderton , Oldham .

In a statement released tonight, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers had made six arrests. Two people have been held on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences.
