MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man was injured in a shooting Friday morning that started with a Facebook Marketplace meetup, police said.

The man's injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Memphis Police (MPD) said a Facebook Marketplace deal was scheduled just before 2 a.m. Friday. It led to a shooting at a home on Millbranch Road in Whitehaven, police said.

The man was shot during an attempted robbery but police said he was expected to survive. The man's brother told investigators that he was meeting up with two people outside the home when gunfire broken out.

"He stated his brother had been talking about buying a weapon from the suspects when he got paid," MPD said in a report.

Officers found the man was shot three times, police said.
