DETROIT -- Casey Mize and Jack Flaherty will start the first two games of the Detroit Tigers’ big series this week against the New York Yankees in the Bronx.

What about Thursday’s series finale?

That’s still to be determined.

It won’t be José Urquidy, who threw three scoreless innings for Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.

It won’t be Tarik Skubal, who seems set up to start Friday’s opener in Miami against the Marlins.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Sawyer Gipson-Long and Keider Montero could be options. The Tigers could also go with a bullpen game.
