TAMPA — Guardians rookie left-hander Parker Messick made the most of his homecoming Sunday with six brilliant innings in a 2-1 win against the Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
José Ramírez delivered an RBI triple and Gabriel Arias drilled a go-ahead single in the sixth inning as Cleveland pulled ahead to extend its winning streak to three games. The victory gives the Guardians their first winning road trip since Aug. 10 and keeps them 2 1/2 games behind the Mariners for the third wild card spot in the American League.
