ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. ( WSFA /Gray News) - An Alabama man was arrested after he reportedly traveled to California, where he was arrested for threatening a Los Angeles area church in late August, according to authorities.
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Joshua Michael Richardson and also known as Joshua Michael Jericho, is from Jemison in Chilton County.
In a statement , Spitzer’s office said Richardson claimed to be “Michael the Angel of Death” when he drove from Alabama to the West Coast.
Officials said Richardson sent an emailed threat to St. Michael’s Abbey in Silverado Canyon on Aug. 19, before his cross-country trek. Silverado Canyon is located about 45 miles southeast of L.A.
