Jim Jarmusch first premiered a film at the Venice International Film Festival more than 20 years ago.

And this weekend, the indie film stalwart won his first Golden Lion.

Jarmusch received the top prize at the prestigious film festival Saturday for “ Father Mother Sister Brother ,” his first film to compete for the honor.

The writer-director filmed part of the movie in New Jersey (see location details below).

The lauded work stars Oscar winner Cate Blanchett , Adam Driver , Vicky Krieps (“Phantom Thread’), Mayim Bialik , Charlotte Rampling , Indya Moore (”Pose"), Luka Sabbat (“Grown-ish”), Sarah Greene (“Bad Sisters”), Françoise Lebrun (“The Mother and the Whore”) and Jarmusch’s frequent collaborator, singer-songwriter Tom Waits .
