Taylor Swift is partnering with Target to usher in three exclusive CDs for her 12th era, “The Life of a Showgirl.” The retail chain will be the first where fans can pre-order the album (out Oct. 3) with three exclusive CD packages that include an 8-page lyric booklet and exclusive posters. Select stores will host midnight releases.
The pop superstar announced her new album on the Aug. 13 episode of fiancé Travis Kelce's “New Heights” podcast. Four limited-edition variants were made available for preorder: "Sweat and Vanilla Perfume," "It's Frightening," "It's Rapturous" and "It's Beautiful." By the end of August, Swift shared three additional variants: "The Shiny Bug," "Baby, That's Show Business" and "The Tiny Bubbles in Champagne."
"My day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress," Swift told Jason Kelce during the podcast on the inspiration behind her opulent and vivacious era. "I wanted to glamorize all the different aspects of how (the Eras Tour) felt."
The 12 tracks are "The Fate of Ophelia," "Elizabeth Taylor," "Opalite," "Father Figure," "Eldest Daughter," "Ruin the Friendship," "Actually Romantic," "Wi$h Li$T," "Wood," “CANCELLED!” "Honey" and the title track.
"The Life of a Showgirl" is Swift's first chapter since she bought her masters for her first six albums. "All of the music I’ve ever made now belongs to me," she said in a letter posted to her website after fully acquiring her catalog from Shamrock Capital in May.
