Bill Belichick acknowledged that New England Patriots scouts are banned from scouting North Carolina practices as the beef between the two sides has escalated.

“Yeah, it’s clear that I’m not welcome around their facility, and so they’re not welcome in ours,” Belichick told reporters Saturday after UNC’s 20-3 win over Charlotte. “Pretty simple.”

Belichick, 73, left the Patriots after the 2023 NFL season and his departure was officially announced on Jan. 11, 2024. He coached the franchise to six Super Bowl championships with Tom Brady as the quarterback.

Since then, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Belichick have traded barbs through the media.
