AMES — Iowa came up short of a road upset against No. 16 Iowa State on Saturday.

The Cyclones (3-0, 1-0 Big 12) held on for a 16-13 win over the Hawkeyes (1-1, 0-0 Big Ten) with a Kyle Konrardy field goal with 1:56 remaining in the final frame.
