VMAs 2025 winners: Lady Gaga dominates as Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter tie

The 2025 MTV VMAs was a night of musical "Mayhem."

Lady Gaga, who led the pack with 12 nominations, came away from the night with the most wins. Mother Monster collected four Moon Person trophies despite having to rush off to perform at Madison Square Garden for her Mayhem Ball tour.

Ariana Grande trailed her with three wins, but the "Wicked" star could also boast about having delivered some of the most memorable speeches during the Sept. 7 award show in New York. She was tied with pop princess Sabrina Carpenter, who used the stage to make a statement in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, who are tied with the most VMAs wins of all time, each received a single nomination this year in the artist of the year category (which went to Lady Gaga). Neither made an appearance.

Not all of the awards were televised; some were either revealed during the pre-show or after the three-hour program.
