A magnitude 4.8 earthquake was recorded off the coast of British Columbia on Sunday morning, according to Emergency Info B.C.
The quake struck at 8 a.m. PT, about 200 kilometres west of Bella Bella and roughly 100 kilometres from the southern tip of Haida Gwaii. Earthquakes Canada reported the depth at approximately 10 kilometres.

Officials confirmed there is no tsunami threat and no reports of damage. A quake of that magnitude is not expected to cause structural impact.
Earthquakes Canada also said there were no confirmed reports of the tremor being felt on land. Residents who believe they experienced the shaking are encouraged to submit reports to the agency.
