Carlos Alcaraz has further rocketed into the upper echelons of tennis by winning the US Open against Jannik Sinner.

The Spaniard has claimed his second title at Flushing Meadows with a 6-2 3-6 6-1 6-3 triumph in another epic battle between the pair.

Alcaraz sealed revenge against Sinner following his Wimbledon loss in July to win the sixth Grand Slam title of his already stunning career.

And US Open victory has seen him join a list of legends to make even more history.

Alcaraz has become the seventh man in the Open Era to win three different Grand Slam titles on at least two occasions.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Pete Sampras, Ivan Lendl and Stefan Edberg are also in the esteemed collective.
