The first offensive series for the Miami Dolphins resulted in an interception – with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa oversailing a pass intended for wide receiver Tyreek Hill – his first of three turnovers.
That summed up Week 1 for the Dolphins, who lost, 33-8 to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Miami gained just 43 total yards of offense in the first two quarters, picking up three first downs and averaging 2.9 yards per play.
The Dolphins didn’t score until deep in the fourth quarter, when Tagovailoa connected with running back De’Von Achane on fourth-and-goal from the Indianapolis 11-yard line, as Achane showed impressive effort to reach the end zone.
Tagovailoa then rolled to his left and found tight end Julian Hill for a successful two-point try.
